Think of the Sooke House as a place—warm, welcoming, and full of character. We’re a shared house with long-term roommates who treat this place as their true home. Everyone here is respectful, interesting, and living dynamic lives, but the overall vibe is incredibly laid-back. Don't worry, though—we keep things organized behind the scenes so your stay is entirely stress-free.
The Location & Getting Around:
Ella Beach: Just a short, beautiful walk away.Downtown Sooke: About 6 km down the road. You can drive there in minutes, catch the bus right outside our front door, or borrow one of our bikes for a scenic ride. Note: Because of our convenient location, there is a bit of traffic noise, but it honestly just fades into the background once you're here.
The Grounds (A Work in Progress!):
Our south-facing front deck is the ultimate sun trap—and while it’s currently showing a little age, we’re actively working on fixing it up! Around back, you'll find a quiet, wonderfully wild backyard that we are slowly taming. You can also admire the garden, where our resident green-thumb, Ken, tends to his permaculture projects.
Backed by wonderfully friendly neighbors, the Sooke House is a community, a sanctuary, and the perfect base for your next adventure.

Welcome to your quiet sanctuary in Sooke. We are a house of mature, friendly working professionals who value a clean, peaceful environment and cost-effective living. The home features a great kitchen and a highly maintained, spotless bathroom.
Enjoy the ultimate convenience: walk to the beach, stroll into town, or catch the Langford/Victoria bus right outside our front door (running every 30 minutes). If you're looking for a great vibe and respectful roommates, you'll love it here.
